As the Administrator, you may propose relationships, and grant shipment sharing rights to third party associates within CargoSmart. You may also define when and what shipment information can be shared, and to whom. Once proposals are accepted, you will be able to share shipment information with the associate company.
As the Administrator, you may propose to
grant shipment information to another company or request shipment information
from another company. In both instances, a relationship is not active
until the proposal recipient has accepted the terms of the proposal.

You may elect to share your company information with an associate company, or request shipment information from an associate company. There are four sections under Information-Sharing that will define the proposed information sharing rights: online information, shipment exception alerts, milestone notification, and booking templates (not available for 'request from' proposals). You may also assign a relationship shipment coverage to restrict the scope of active shipments viewed online and the e-mail notifications received. Refer to Relationship Shipment Coverage for more information.
Tips:
By selecting view shipment details under Online
Information Sharing, you will grant the associate company the ability
to view, track, and report your company's active shipments online. You
may elect to share door pickup and door delivery information. These addresses
are suppressed by default. You may also grant your associate the right
to create and submit Internet Shipping Instructions. You can view examples
by selecting the designated link by each section.
Under Shipment Exception Alert Sharing, you can activate exception
alert e-mails by selecting from the choice of alerts under the Booking
Change and Arrival Date Change. Exception alert e-mails are only generated
when certain preset shipment criteria have changed (e.g, vessel ETA date
change, booking status change).
Under Milestone Notification Sharing, you may select milestone notification
e-mails from a variety of menus under booking, container, and documentation/payment
status menus. Milestone notification e-mails are automatically generated
during the course of a normal shipment cycle when certain milestones have
been reached (e.g., arrival at first port of load, empty container returned
to carrier).
Under Booking Template, you can elect to share one or more booking templates
from your saved company template list.
You may select the start and end date for the relationship in your proposal. If the proposal is accepted after your proposed start date, the CargoSmart relationship will be effective on the acceptance date.
From Propose New Relationship (Information-Sharing):
Choose a specific start date, or the 'acceptance date' option (default)
Choose a specific end date or the 'termination by either party' option (default)
Tips: Before the relationship expiration date, CargoSmart will send a notification reminding parties of the expiration, in case either party wants to propose modifications to extend it. CargoSmart relationships are immediately terminated upon the request from either party, regardless of the proposal effective end dates.
