CargoSmart allows you to create and submit a booking request to your carrier through the following methods:
Tips:
Only users with booking rights as assigned by the company Administrator
have access to this function.
Currently, CargoSmart only supports booking requests with general and reefer
cargo type and full container load.
CargoSmart provides a booking request receipt after your booking request
is submitted. The key information this receipt contains is the booking
number from the carrier, CargoSmart booking status, and pending reason
if the booking is pended.
From My CargoSmart Center:
Select Create Booking Request
Select a Carrier
Select Create Booking
Enter the required information (designated with red asterisk) in each of the following sections of the form: Rate/Reference, Parties, Routing, Cargo, Door Pickup Appointment (if door pickup haulage is carrier), Special Requirements, and Remarks.
To submit a booking request:
Edit the booking request form as necessary
Select Submit Booking Request...
Select whether you want to save the booking request as a draft, or save as a template, or receive the receipt by e-mail
Select Process Booking Request...
Select Close to close the window, or Print to print booking request receipt
CargoSmart allows users with booking rights the ability to save and share booking templates with other company users. You may create a new booking request from your own template, a shared company template, or a shared associate company template if your associate has elected to share booking templates with your company through the Relationship Manager.
From My CargoSmart Center:
To retrieve a booking template you have marked as your favorite:
Choose a booking template from Favorite Templates
Select Go
To retrieve one of your booking templates:
Select Manage Booking Templates
Choose a booking template under My Templates tab
Select Copy to New Booking
To retrieve a shared company booking template:
Select Manage Booking Templates
Select My Company Templates tab
Choose a booking template
Select Copy to New Booking
To retrieve a booking template that is shared with your associate(s):
Select Manage Booking Templates
Choose Associate Company's Templates tab
Choose a booking template
Select Copy to New Booking
Tip: Associate company's templates are only available if the Administrator of an associate company has granted sharing rights to your company on one or more booking templates.
Copy a booking template to a new booking request from a method described
above.
Edit the booking request form as necessary
Select Submit Booking Request...
Select whether you want to save the booking request as a draft, or save as a template, or receive the receipt by e-mail
Select Process Booking Request...
Select Close to close the window, or Print to print booking request receipt
From Sailing Schedule search results:
Select Book by the desired vessel voyage
Edit the booking request form as necessary
Select Submit Booking Request...
Select whether you want to save the booking request as a draft, or save as a template, or receive the receipt by e-mail
Select Process Booking Request...
Select Close to close the window, or Print to print booking request receipt
You can submit bookings based upon existing
shipment records within CargoSmart.
From Shipment Details by booking number:
Choose 'Copy to New Booking' and select Go to create a new booking request
Edit the booking request form as necessary
Select Submit Booking Request...
Select whether you want to save the booking request as a draft, or save as a template, or receive the receipt by e-mail
Select Process Booking Request...
Select Close to close the window, or Print to print booking request receipt
CargoSmart allows you to save a draft of
a new booking request. You may retrieve, edit and submit drafts as new
booking requests.
From My CargoSmart Center:
Select Manage Booking Drafts
Choose a booking draft
Select Open Draft
Edit the booking request form as necessary
Select Submit Booking Request...
Select whether you want to save the booking request as a draft, or save as a template, or receive the receipt by e-mail
Select Process Booking Request...
Select Close to close the window, or Print to print booking request receipt
